One of the biggest attractions not only in Bulgaria but in the whole of Southeastern \u00a0Europe takes place every weekend (in the summer even every day) \u00a0in Veliko Tarnovo. It is so called \u00a0\u201eAudiovisual performance of Tsarevets Fortress\u201d. The whole hill is colorfully visualized and synchronized with \u00a0musical choreography. Remarkable and influential composition recreating the dramatic events in the rise and fall of Medieval Bulgaria.<\/p>\n

More than 30 years ago in 1979. With the development of the city of Veliko Tarnovo as a cultural, historical and tourist center, the idea of \u200b\u200bcreating a multimedia show related to the Tsarevets Fortress was born.<\/p>\n

The whole idea of \u200b\u200b\u201eSound and Light Show\u201d begins with the discussion of placing a bell \u00a0in the Big Bell Tower of the Patriarchal Church to ring at certain hours.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, thanks to the \u201eArt Center \u2013 Prague\u201d in the person of Jaromir Hnik, the idea of \u200b\u200ba complete \u201eSound and Light Show\u201d was realized.<\/p>\n

The project is a concept and initiative of the director Volo Radev, who through 630 kilometers of electric cable network, 2400 color floodlights, 140 flashes and 6 ringing bells, creates a unique spectacle with a breathtaking atmoshere.<\/p>\n

“Sound and Light Show” was written by writers Seraphim Severnyak and Anton Donchev. The title is “Tarnovo legend” and follows the path from the founding of Bulgaria in 681. until the conquest of Tarnovgrad by the Ottomans in 1393.<\/p>\n

The Czechs, who took part in the creation of the light and sound show, foresaw no more than 12 years of life for the show. Contrary to all expectations, for over 40 years the program has retained its original appearance and impresses viewers around the world. During all this time there is not a single failed show due to a technical malfunction.<\/p>\n

A specially built VIP hall with a terrace and panoramic views of the Tsarevets Fortress, which is located behind the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin offers comfortable air-conditioned premise with an unforgettable view of \u00a0Tsarevets Fortress so that spectators can enjoy the show in all weather conditions.<\/p>\n
