Samovodska \u00a0Bazaar or also known as “Samovodska Charshia” is a street in the old part of Veliko Tarnovo, which takes us back to the distant past, when craftsmen showed their work and the inns welcomed travelers from near and far.<\/p>\n

Founded in the middle of the 19th century, Samovodska Charshia in ancient “Varusha” district in old part of Veliko Tarnovo has preserved its Revival shops, handicraft workshops and inns to present days.<\/p>\n

Trade and handicrafts were the main livelihood of the Bulgarian population and the Samovodska Charshia in historical Veliko Tarnovo was one of the most beautiful and rich in diversity Revival markets.<\/p>\n

Walking along it, you can see Hadji David and Hadji the Great Khan, as well as that of Atanas Yonoolu. Apart from them, there are also many Revival and post-liberation houses that have preserved their historical spirit and charm.<\/p>\n

On the Samovodska Charshia in old town Veliko Tarnovo are the convent of the Hilendar Monastery and the native house of the Bulgarian writer Emilian Stanev.<\/p>\n

Fully equipped and working are several main workshops where you can learn about different crafts: weaving, icon painting, candy store, pottery, woodcraft and carving workshops and others. Of course, on the bazaar itself, there are souvenir and antique shops, from which you can take a memory of past times of historical pride and prosperity.<\/p>\n
