\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Only 20 km from the town of Veliko Tarnovo you can find the Emen Canyon or also known as the Canyon of the Negovanka River. It is home to one of the first and most beautiful Bulgarian eco-trails. It is one of the few ennobled, but also preserved landmarks in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The Emen canyon was declared a natural landmark in 1980 and has an accessible and picturesque eco-trail suitable for all ages, one of the deepest caves in Bulgaria is located on its territory and the waterfall Momin skok.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The\u00a0Emen eco-trail follows the edge of the canyon along the Negovanka River. The trail is about a kilometer and a half long, surrounded by majestic nature, rock phenomena and picturesque natural views. The walk in both directions will take you about two hours.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The eco-trail is clearly marked and maintained, and there is no danger of getting lost, but when descending you must be careful with wet and damp areas, which pose a risk of slipping. In some places the climate is quite humid, the vegetation is lush and the air is cool, which is reminiscent of a tropical jungle – another hidden surprise in the depths of the Yemeni canyon.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0At the beginning of the Emen eco-trail is the Emen cave, which is home to bat colonies. Keep in mind that their breeding season is between May and June, when it is advisable not to enter the cave. In the past, it was used for various purposes – from a place for growing mushrooms and maturing cheese, to a military base. Today it is a popular tourist destination, and just below it is the car park, from which you can continue on foot along the eco-trail.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0At the end of the eco-trail is the incredible waterfall Momin skok. It is 10 meters high, surrounded entirely by rocks with a small pool at its base. It takes its name from the legend of the girls who ended their lives because of unrequited love or lost faith. If you continue on the path after the waterfall, you will reach the Negovanka dam.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 Emen canyon impresses with its preserved and pure natural beauty. Extremely maintained, easily accessible and convenient tourist destination that is worth taking the time to explore. A delight for the senses and the spirit, hidden just a few kilometers from civilization.<\/span><\/p>\n
