Construit la sf\u00e2r\u0219itul secolului al XIX-lea, podul are 160 de metri \u00een\u0103l\u021bime \u0219i leag\u0103 partea central\u0103 a ora\u0219ului de\u00a0<strong>dealul Sveta Gora<\/strong>. Ofer\u0103 o vedere incredibil\u0103 asupra p\u0103r\u021bii vechi din\u00a0<strong>Veliko T\u00e2rnovo<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Construc\u021bia\u00a0<strong>podului<\/strong>\u00a0a fost \u00eenceput\u0103 \u00een\u00a0anul\u00a01892 dup\u0103 proiectul arhitectului italian Giovanni Mussuti, executat de compania vienez\u0103 de turn\u0103torie de metal \u201eRudolph Philipp Wagner\u201d, care a construit podurile \u201eOrlov\u201c \u0219i \u201eL\u00e2vov\u201c din capital\u0103. Scopul construc\u021biei sale a fost scurtarea drumului dintre ora\u0219, gara \u0219i Universitatea\u00a0din\u00a0<strong>Veliko T\u00e2rnovo<\/strong>. Facilitatea era unic\u0103 pentru vremea sa, const\u00e2nd din dou\u0103 tuneluri, dou\u0103 c\u0103i ferate \u0219i un pod pietonal.<\/p>\n<p>\u00cen lucr\u0103rile de construc\u021bie a\u00a0<strong>podului<\/strong>, maestrul constructor de la\u00a0<strong>T\u00e2rnovo<\/strong>\u00a0Stoyan Gerganov a jucat un rol\u00a0mare, a construit o structur\u0103-schel\u0103 special\u0103 din lemn pentru funda\u021bia structurii.<\/p>\n<p>Cu c\u00e2teva zile \u00eenainte ca\u00a0<strong>podul<\/strong>\u00a0s\u0103 fie finalizat \u0219i pus \u00een func\u021biune, \u00een timpul instal\u0103rii a avut loc un accident oribil. Ultimul arc metalic care a fost amplasat a zburat de la o \u00een\u0103l\u021bime de 30 de metri spre r\u00e2u.
